Pranic Healing is close to my heart in a way that’s a little different from the other modalities I practice — it’s the one I’ve built the deepest ongoing relationship with, and the one where I most feel the marriage of structure and intuition that drew me to this work in the first place.
The Foundation
Pranic Healing was developed and systematized by Master Choa Kok Sui, drawing on ancient healing traditions and organizing them into a clear, teachable, no-touch energy healing system. “Prana” refers to life force — the same vital energy that shows up under different names across traditions (qi, mana, ki). What sets Pranic Healing apart, in my view, is how methodical it is. This isn’t vague energy waving. There’s an actual protocol: assess the energy field, cleanse what’s congested or diseased, energize what’s depleted.
It’s a no-touch modality, which surprises some people. The work happens in the aura — the energy field that surrounds the physical body — rather than through physical contact.
What a Session Looks Like
When I work with a client, I begin by scanning their energy field to get a sense of where things feel depleted, congested, or imbalanced. From there, the work moves into cleansing — clearing out that stagnant or diseased energy — followed by energizing, where fresh prana is directed into the areas that need it.
Clients often describe sensations during a session: warmth, tingling, a wave of emotion moving through, sometimes a felt sense of something lifting. Others notice very little in the moment but feel a shift afterward — clearer thinking, physical ease, better sleep that night.
Why the System Matters to Me
I’ve mentioned before that I was drawn to modalities that had real structure to them, not because I don’t value intuition — intuition is a huge part of this work — but because structure and intuition aren’t actually opposites. Having a clear system freed me up to trust my intuition within it, rather than feeling like I was improvising from nothing. Pranic Healing gave me that scaffolding. I could learn the assessment techniques, the protocols for different conditions, the specific cleansing and energizing methods — and then bring my own sensitivity and presence into how I applied them.
What It Can Help With
Pranic Healing is used for an enormously wide range of things — physical discomfort, emotional imbalance, stress, fatigue, and as a general practice of energetic hygiene, the same way you might think of physical hygiene. I’ve worked with clients on everything from chronic anxiety to cancer to simply wanting to feel more like themselves.
As with every modality I practice, I want to be direct: Pranic Healing supports the body’s healing process, it does not replace medical care. If you’re managing a diagnosed condition, please keep your medical team involved. This work sits alongside that care, not instead of it.
A Practice, Not Just a Session
One thing I love about Pranic Healing is that it’s designed to be learnable — there are self-healing techniques a person can practice on their own, not just things done to you by a practitioner. That accessibility matters to me. Healing shouldn’t only live in someone else’s hands. Part of what I hope to offer clients isn’t just relief in the moment, but tools they can carry with them.
